Make sure that in your search for a beautiful type-face, your service sheets remain legible - especially for older or younger members of the congregation. It can be tempting to make the type-face smaller to save space. If you need to do this, use a clear font.
It is not essential to reproduce the text of each reading within your order of service and doing so will bump up the length and therefore the cost but it does help turn your booklets into more of a memento.
The music will need to be chosen before you have the order of service sheets printed as you will probably want to include all the details. The composer should usually be credited as well as the correct title. Check the spellings carefully.
It is polite to thank the minister or registrar, church wardens (or their equivalent), organist etc at the end of your order of service. It can also be a nice opportunity to record the names of bridesmaids, best-man, ushers and thank them all. Again, check all spellings carefully.
Although you will be very busy at this point, most of your guests will not be and it is a good idea to lay on some entertainment such as background music. If you are planning on having photographs outside the ceremony venue before travelling to the reception you may be able to organise your ceremony musicians to play some light music, for an additional fee.
It can be tempting to make a late entrance - but don’t be more than five minutes late - it’s not just your congregation who are waiting but also the minister, church wardens, bell ringers, choir, organist, drivers, photographer... and nervous groom.
